Handmade “Present Time” quarter-sawn oak Mission style mantel clock

$249.00Price
Quantity

This beautifully crafted 1999 Arts & Crafts mantel clock is the work of independent woodworker Jim Dailey, who operated under the studio name Present Time (formerly based out of Mt. Vernon / Acme, Washington).

Dailey’s pieces are highly regarded within modern Craftsman communities for capturing the clean, timeless geometry of the Mission and Prairie style movements.

Key Characteristics of This Piece:

  • Quarter-Sawn White Oak: The case features beautiful Ray Flake figuring (flecking) characteristic of high-quality quarter-sawn oak, common in original Gustav and L.&J.G. Stickley designs.

  • Craftsman Details: The clock body sits on a gently flared base, featuring a classic overhanging top mantle and a custom window cutout at the bottom displaying the inner pendulum area.

  • Artisan Value: Dailey hand-signed and dated his work on the back panel or inner compartment. Because he individualistically built or tweaked his designs—frequently working with metal and copper artists for his dials—each clock is highly collectible for Arts & Crafts enthusiasts.
